In response to the the travel ban, protesters gathered around the nation’s largest airports to express disapproval and outrage. Some were holding picketing signs, some were chanting, and some were attempting to block access to terminals. So far they have all remained peaceful and haven’t had any influence on the decision.
President Trump has commented that “the ban is working out nicely.”
In spite of public reaction, the White House Correspondents Association is holding a celebratory reception for the President. The recognition comes after nearly two years of critical, and at times bordering on partial, coverage of President Trump since his campaign started.
The association released this statement:
“Today we would like to officially congratulate President Trump for following through on his campaign promises. He made many to bring change to the establishment and challenge the status quo, but, unlike his predecessors, he has remained consistent and predictable. We’re relieved that we can continue our lucrative coverage of imminent downfall and generate record level audiences throughout our various outlets.”
The White House has not responded.
